Vitamin D

I take vitamin D as well because my para-thyroid hormone was high and as soon as I started taking vitamin D it went back to normal, also the meds I take for my osteopenia are calcium/vitamin D suppliments, I was told that the osteopenia has factor in my vitamin D being low, I'm hoping to get off the didrocal soon but I have to wait until my next bone density because my hip still wasn't back to normal. I was also told that althought we all have trouble absorbing those vitamins some people have ther own that they absorb less of, they were debating a few years ago about putting my on a vitamin A suppliment and I've heard of others that have to take K, so maybe you just have more trouble with D than the others.

Hey there <img src="">

I am the same!! My vitamin D level is just below the normal mark. The docs found out when I was about 18. And at the time put me on a vitamin D supplement called Rocalrol. But now something better has come along apparently called - Colecalciferol. Each tablet contains - 1.25mgs of this stuff. And it works differently and is stored in your body fat. Though I am still low in vitamin D I am told you can take more of this stuff every 2 - 3 weeks. But the docs have only put me on Colecalciferol once a month. I am pushing for more than that as I think I need it, because I have lack in vitamin D for SO LONG!

Mine is also low, just started being low a couple years ago. I take 800 IU every day. I need to get out in the sun more. They say you should go in the sun without sunscreen to get the vitamin D to absorb from the sun.
