Warmer Weather

After having several weeks of unseasonably cold rainy weather, this past week we've had unseasonably dry, hot weather...

Yesterday when I picked up DS at daycare he was standing at the drinking fountain with what I thought were soapsuds in his hand until I realized it was salt.

The daycare director explained to me that he was running laps around the playground like a wild man and she made him come in early because despite drinking water, she could see the salt crystals forming in his hairline and it was freaking her out a little bit. Earlier this week, DS took off his salt stained baseball cap and was licking it. This time he was picking off the salt crystals and eating them. Ewww!

I do buy gatorade in the summer time, but for the most part he prefers water and his own salt shaker. He sometimes has me put salt in his kool-aid when it's particularly warm out.

And also, don't have the money to keep buying sports drinks (student!) so I mix squash/cordial/fruit juice with salt. Seems to do the job! :)
