As the unfortunate voice of experience, yes, this overly false information . Rapists aren't interested in money. Believe me. When I was assaulted I offered him my wallet, my car keys, my engagement ring...ANYTHING to get him to stop what I knew was happening. It didn't matter one bit. Rapists rape, muggers mug. Rarely to the two motives coincide in the same predator.

I was concerned that this might be bogus, and was even going to say something at the end of this, but I decided if it was out there then there would be someone who would try this or have it tried on them. It was not meant to imply that the rapist was interested in $$$, but that this was an easy ploy. Especially if it has been "outed"
Good grief--in real life a rapist came upon a woman as she was depositing $$ in an ATM--her window was open--when she looked down to get her money he hit her and tried to get in her car. This I heard on Oprah from the woman herself. It seemed like an easy thing to do--so that's why I posted it, even tho' my 6th sense screamed "hoax"!

You are right Lauren--$$$will never deter a rapist. He will just take that too...

I was concerned that this might be bogus, and was even going to say something at the end of this, but I decided if it was out there then there would be someone who would try this or have it tried on them. It was not meant to imply that the rapist was interested in $$$, but that this was an easy ploy. Especially if it has been "outed"
Good grief--in real life a rapist came upon a woman as she was depositing $$ in an ATM--her window was open--when she looked down to get her money he hit her and tried to get in her car. This I heard on Oprah from the woman herself. It seemed like an easy thing to do--so that's why I posted it, even tho' my 6th sense screamed "hoax"!

This is why I love my gun, and my concealed license. All Women should pack heat, and conceal carry it so it is within easy access. Of course there is no better protection than awareness, common sense, and intuition. After all those fail though, be sure to introduce said person to a whole magazine of gold dot hollow points.

I have often asked myself how I would respond if I were ever confronted with someone who I saw attempt a rape/abduction, or in the process of rape. By law I am allowed to kill them, but maybe an intense beating to the point they are crippled for life would feel better doing. Of course then you have lawsuits, hence why cops are taught to shoot to kill.
