I finished a 2 week course of levoquin (levoquil?? whatever) about a week ago and am 3 weeks into a 4 week course of Tobi. On Friday I got a sinus infection that hit me really fast. I felt fine until about 4:00 in the afternoon. I actually thought I was allergic to some lillies someone had at work until I woke up on Saturday and felt like my face was going to explode and I couldn't breathe through my nose at all. I called my doc and got a perscription of zythro called in and started taking it the same day. Today I've felt short of breath and had a mild cough that is a little painful and somewhat productive as far as mucus goes. Basically it feels like the beginning stages of bronchitis or something equally horrible. The point is I should be so full of antibiotics at this point that I shouldn't be feeling like this. My sinus infection is getting a little better but this cough has me worried. I've never cultured any bugs that are worth worring about. I was just on the levoquin and Tobi to bring up my PFTs, I felt fine at the start of this. I'm going to call my clinic tomorrow anyway, but what do you guys think?

I have been told by my CF doctor that a lot of the meds I use for my lungs wont help the sinuses and depending on how bad the sinuses are, if it works, it taskes a bit longer. Are U sure its not the Lillies? I only ask because that is the one flower that makes me close up immediately both head & chest & it takes a bit to calm it down. Hope things work out for you!

Sounds like something I'm just on the tail end of fighting. Started with my sinuses, then turned into a full blown chest infection. I couldn't breath, I was in ER with an asthma attack, and everytime I exerted myself I got short of breath and had coughing fits. My energy level was way down as well, and spent majority of my time sick on the couch or in bed blowing into a paper bag! The doc had me on 1 month of Cloxycylin & Cipro, and may start me on inhaled TOBI next week when I go see him for a check up. I hope what you have isn't bronchitis. I've never had it, but I'm sure its awful!
