Ugh, I'm sorry you are having to go in!
One thing I do is ask for a pass out for an hour or two- several times. Get someone to come and get you and go out to lunch, or even the movies- it breaks up the monotony (and stress).
If you don't have a hobby like knitting (or whatever!), maybe you could find something and get a book and supplies to give it a try while you are in there. I usually take my art stuff, and I make little bitty christmas ornaments (that I put in cards) that I pretty much work on all year.
I also take books, lots of books...and if I have to go in and stay again, I am taking a fold up rocking chair (camp chair), lol. I'm not kidding, either- it helps my stress to rock, and it also helps to keep me from getting stiff from being in my room all day .
Let's see, what else...I also take lots of snacks, I bring a few games (for visitors- I have a fun dice game that my sister brought me once- if I find the directions, I'll pm them to you). Take some card games, either the real ones (lol) or a handheld game or your computer if you can for solitare, etc. If you can take your computer, I've got several simple game sites that will leave you wondering where the time went . If you want to call me, I can pm you my phone # too. I'm not the best phone chatter, but I will give it a whirl! I would like to try to come and visit, but I'm still a bit gunky from this last cold, and I have about a dozen people who will kill me if I try to go to visit at the hospital at the tail end of flu season .
Did they do a sputum culture in clinic? If they didn't, make sure they get one done asap when you go in- no sense in being there longer than you have to be .
I will definitely be praying for you - I hope they can get your port to behave, and avoid all that other stuff.
