Diane there is nothing wrong with being a dizzy blonde hahah! That is me..I am blonde and dizzy (not ditzy)..I have had kinda what you have going on, for over a year now..I get a little dizzy, blurry eyed and have even lost my balance and fallen over, it's radical. So my ENT guy sent me for an ENG test (the worst test that has ever been done to me!)..they blow hot air in your ears, then cold air in your ears then have you name like fruits, vegitable and people's names..it is SO bizzar and it hurts!! But they did find that my test was a little abnormal and that there is a little problem in my middle brain. Amazing! That is explains A LOT hahaha..there is really no treatmeng for the ole diagnosis (forget what it is called), but if the dizziness gets worse he can give me a med for it..I don't want that though.

So good luck..keep it on your feet..maybe ask you ENT if an ENG is an appropriate test for you? It can show a lot of things..I don't really recomend that test for anyone though..yikes!

Hehe, talk about becoming an "Air-head" with that ENG test!! Doesn't cold and hot air cause a tornado?...maybe that's why it hurt so much, unless it's like eating a "Freezy Cone" or something like that really fast!
I've had occasional dizzy spells myself, but it seemed to be from exhaustion, or maybe a spell in which a lack of oxygen was going to the brain.

Which reminds me, if your oxygen intake is low, wouldn't that be a possible reason for dizzy spells? I recall from my Judo lessons that if you put a proper strangle-hold on your enemy, the blood flow to the brain, with all the oxygen, will put him to sleep (if you hold it longer, something worse happens, though!).
I was practicing with a classmate for the strangle-hold once, and the idea was to fight it before I passed out...well, I got really dizzy, and things started blurring before I tapped out! (WHAT a RUSH, though!)

Just a thought about what may be causing the dizzy spells, but being a dizzy blonde isn't so bad! Some guys think it's cute!

oh Emily, that ENG test sounds awful....lol The ENT gavce me a prescription to have balance testing done, but i am prob not going to do it, because chances are theres nothing i can do( about the dizziness) but wait it out, till it finally goes away. I go to the neurologist this week ( thursday) so ill see what he says about the cat scan.
Fred.... Thats true, i guess some guys do think a dizzy blonde is a cute thing <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> Maybe i should start acting like one....lol

Hey Diane sorry that they couldnt find anything, I do hope that the dizziness goes away. Oh and that was my husband that had gotten dizzy in the past, not bf. When he went to the emergency room they said that they didnt know what it was and eventualy the dizziness went away, but that lasted shoot 3months I think and now once in a while he'll get a little dizzy for a few sec. and thats it. He thinks something is still wrong with his head but he hasnt done anything about it. Will you let us know what the neurologist says about the cat scan. Thank you for keeping us updated about your dizziness.

have they done a sleep study? I wonder if you aren't sleeping well at night? I know I used to be dizzy a lot too.

Oh, if you need something in the meantime, my hubby and I have used: "prochlorperazine" for nausea and vomiting. I use it when my allerigies are making me dizzy. Anti vert never worked for me either.

From the prochlorperazine.com website:
Prochlorperazine is a highly potent neuroleptic, which is 10-20 times more potent than chlorpromazine. This medication is in a class of drugs called phenothiazines.

Prochlorperazine is used to treat the nausea and vomiting caused by radiation therapy, cancer chemotherapy, surgery, and other conditions. It is also used to treat psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations and hostility.

It is sold under the brand names Compazine®, Buccastem® and Stemetil®.
