from the other posts i gather they are vitamins. my son takes vit a+d plus vit e, should he be having something else?<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">
ADEK drops are Vitamins A, D, E & K all in one. All these are fat soluable vitamins which is hard for CFers to obsorb so its recommended we take them. Theyb come in tablet form or liquid (drop) form for different ages. The vitamin K becomes more important if the CFer has hemoptysis (bleeding of the lung) because the Vitamin K helps in clotting the blood!
Not only does our son get adeks vitamin drops twice a day, he also gets a 5 mg tablet of vitamin K once a week. His cf doctor explained that the amount of K in the adeks isn't adequate. Liza aka ratatosk mom to a toddler wcf
Both the ADEKs drops and the chewing tablets are "special" for cfers because the vitamins are in a water soluable form. You can look it up under <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.axcan.com/productinfoadeks.php?lang=1
