I had Meconium Ileus when I was born and I did suffer from a few obstructions here and there. Sometimes it will be too many enzymes and other times it may be slow moving bowels. Pay attention to how many times in a day your daughter is going to the bathroom. CFers go to the bathroom more frequently (in most cases). The most recent obstruction that I had, I had not gone to the bathroom at all that day and was just passing a lot of gas.....I hadn't even thought about it being an obstruction. At that point, I was supposed to be going to the bathroom frequently because I had just had my colostomy bag off the week prior. By dinner time, I had some pain coming on and when I actually went to eat, I couldn't because I felt sick to my stomach. I went to bed that night and woke up an hour later in major pain and ended up going to the ER. I had a CT and sure enough it was a blockage. Luckily it passed on it's own a few hours later after some fluids running in me and some pain meds through the IV.
This episode was caused from slow moving intestines. Since I had a colostomy bag for 9 months, most of my small intestine had not worked for that long. It was a little sluggish to get going and that's what caused my obstruction.
