what good has insurance done for you?

i am on a really awesome state CF program that covers ALL of my CF-related needs. (diabetes, allergy referral) i have never been denied anything through them. they are slow at paying, and so i get a lot of bills and threatening letters in the mail, but it's worth it.

the downside is that i have to pay for all other medical expenses out of pocket because my insurance does not cover anything else. in fact, if i got a job that had insurance, i would then lose my CF program--and i know it is better than any private insurance plan would be.

basically this mean regularly paying for the dentist and GYN, but of course other stuff crops up that requires a visit to the walk-in clinic and whatnot. i don't even have a general practitioner.

I have great insurance but of course it comes with my job. I only pay small copays and I have never been denied anything. Of course this stinks because I am debating going part time and if I do that I loose my awesome benes

A few years ago I was trying to get state aid since I worked part time and didn't have insurance and they told me I made to much money so I had to use the COBRA with my old job. That cost me almost $450 a monthw hich was just about what i was making! They told me if I wanted state help I had to sit on my a*s and do nothing and they would pay. I was pissed!

Gotta love the good ole' U S of A!
