Hi Jessica,
It's not bursting anyone's bubble to be a good friend and keep them out of harm's way. She probably feels very helpless (as many parents of chronically ill children do) and wants to believe that Mannatech is working. The stuff doesn't work and it's a fraud. Please be a good friend and help her understand that she's wasting time, effort and money.

Down's Syndrome, like CF is a genetic problem. Neither condition can be "fixed" or "reversed" or "cured" by nutritional supplements, no matter what anyone tries to say. In my personal opinion, parents who forgo actual scientific medical treatments and medications (e.g. enzymes, mucolytics, antibiotics) and instead favor of unproven "natural remedies" for cystic fibrosis are committing child abuse. I'm not saying you or your friend are doing this, but I know some people are, and it makes me upset that this happens.

oh no, this is not in lieu of treatments it would be in addition too... that is why i came here to see what everyone thought...

my friend suggested mannatech
my mom suggested monavie..similar to noni juice
my daughters pediatrician is into holistic treatments and recommended juice plus

i truly believe all the people offering suggestions are just trying to help. but it is up to me to do my own research on each to see if any or none would benefit Jaelyn in the long run. apparently mannatech is OFF the list! haha... although i do feel for my friend as she is a new mother and just searching for answers... i will forward her this thread and let her do her own digging!!
