I was just wondering what time of day you got "the call" asking you to come to the hospital for transplant ... it just seems to me that it might be early morning or late evening because they need to do the surgery on an empty stomach.

2pm, but I didn't get "done" until around 1am, was a long tedious wait!

My initial call came at about 2-2:15 am. They told me to stay at home at that time and just wait to hear back from them a few hours later. I was also told at 2am not to have anything to eat unless told otherwise by them. I waited and heard back at about 8 am and was told to go to the hospital at that time. I arrived at the hospital at about 8:30 am and waited there until roughly 8:30 that night when I was taken to the pre op area. My surgery did not start until about 10:30pm and I was finished and in Surgical ICU by 4:30am the following day.

We had 7 calls. They came at all times of day and night, weekends and weekdays. The real one came at about 8 in the morning. Surgery started at 3pm and was over after midnight.
