So I am currently in the hole. I came in not feeling awful, but I could tell I was a little jumky and my sinuses were AWFUL. I am so glad we caught this before it got "bad". I am so happy for all the changes I have made in my health. Tomorrow I am having sinus surgery and I am hoping for even more improvement!

So Last week upon entry my stats where this

FVC - 2.03/52%
FEV1 - 1.42/42%
FEFMAX - 4.65/72%
FEF25-75% - 0.88/24%
FEV1/FVC - 70.11/87%
FEV3/FVC - 90.29/93%

So def not as bad as they have been, but not great. Today they were:

FVC - 2.51/65%
FEV1 - 1.74/56%
FEFMAX - 5.52/85%
FEF25-75% - 1.10/30%
FEV1/FVC - 69.05/86%
FEV3/FVC - 89.99/93%

They still aren't back to what they were in Nov. Which was 75/62, but considering after that I was in the ICU. I would say I am getting back on track. And I FEEL better now than I did in Nov.

I passed my 1st AND 2nd goals of 50 & 55%. I went in today just hoping they would be about 50%. I figured a 8% increase was alot to ask for...but a 14% INCREASE is insane! So My next goal is 60%. My ultamate goal is 2.0 (which I assume is somewhere around the 70%). Of course anyhting higher is appreciated, but I haven't had 70% function since I was probably 16.

That's awesome Jessica! But just remember (this is what my dad always says to me to keep me grounded) There are always going to be bumps in the road. Its not meant to be negative, but it's meant as a gentle reminder that even if you do see a decline not to beat yourself up over it. It's a bump in the road and you'll get over it sooner or later.

Your increase is amazing! And you probably feel much better too. Just keep that motivation up and you'll do great!

there is nothing like the feeling of walking away with a great pft after working hard to reach that goal!
enjoy that feeling and the results of your work!
and keep it up. this is no time to slack off bc you had a good #.
but i know the feeling you have and enjoy it!
everytime i leave my "well" checkups i get myself a little reward...BIG sundae, new pair of shoes, or flowers for no reason....A little reward for all the stinkin work we have to do!!
<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Yes, and I ditto the bump in the road thing. Its not if they go down...its when. They inevitably will. So when you have a good season, enjoy it. And when you have a bad season, pick yourself back up and keep working and believing you'll get there. Bc thats half the battle.

O yeah I knwo they will go down. In fact I expect next week will be awful. I am mostly just glad to see that no perminate damage was done during my ICU stay. But I amdef still working hard, I have yet to meet AND KEEP my goal.
