(What's The) Amount of Salt lost in sweat

Thank You, Everyone for confirming my correct information.
I was about seven when I had the salt test, so I never heard what my number was. I doubt a test like that is available here, but worth asking, and maybe worth finding out what the number for me happens to be.
Candice, thank you for your explanation, but it was technically a little above my head (WHOOSH!)...but I got the main idea that it's a genetic "error" which causes us to lose salt.

Emily, I happen to salt my Pizza's, too! I did it since High School, and had a few wierd looks from my peers! I even used to work at Showbiz Pizza Place in the ancient days, and would practically pour the whole shaker on the pizza! (LOL! )
To all those who suggested Pretzels, well, just to let you know, I am the Pretzel King!!! I had a hard time finding my favorite Pretzels (Rold Gold), so my parents actually sent about three pounds over here...enough til the end of the summer, I think! Though, whenever I'm in the states, I like to take back some Pretzel sticks, and Bavarian Pretzels...sometimes could go for a soft Pretzel, but can't find that anywhere around here!

Yuka wants me to ask the doctor I regularly see, and I will discuss it with him, including the question of whether he has done some research of his own for me.
Oh, I have been taking in sports drinks, as well (forgot to mention it on my intro), and will find some Gatorade on occasion, but Japan has "Aquarius", made from Coka Cola Bottlers, which is pretty decent (and reasonably priced) stuff.

Ender, from my understanding, the heart runs off the chemical exchange of Sodium Cloride, Potassium Cloride (and one more chemical) for the heart beat (This is what I heard is what makes an electric pulse for the EEC to measure in my BioElectronics class I took, also in ancient times), so if there is not enough Sodium availiable, I'm sure it will affect the heart.

One other question, does anyone who starts getting low on salts, begin getting cramps in their feet, legs, or wherever in the body? I seem to get them frequent after sports, and I was told it was Potassium Cloride getting low, and eating a banana is the best way to replace it. I also take Quinine, which was suggested by my sister, when I get cramps in the legs and feet.

That's it Fred, you found your calling. You should open a soft pretzel stand over there. You will make millions! No wait...billions!

Gatorade does have salt. ANd its good for us too. My doc actually said to drink it "instead" of water in the summer time, just because of the salt content

Sorry for the technical explanation, I forget that not everybody has been through a Bio class (or remembers it). I struggled with the class myself so most of the things have stuck. But yeah basically a genetic error where salt doesn't flow properly through the cells.

I seem to get them frequent after sports, and I was told it was Potassium Cloride getting low, and eating a banana is the best way to replace it. Coule be a magnesium deficiency. *shrug
If it's a charlie horse type pain in the middle of the muscle I'd say have your doctor do a complete blood workup and look at your vitamin levels/magnesium/etc. Usually when my magnesium level is low the muscle pain is bad enough to wake me from a deep sleep.
