when's the right time to have I.V?

I would personally go on IVs, and I'm NOT the type of person to go on IVs without probable cause! LOL.

You sound a lot like what happened to me this year too. I got a cold, moved to chest, kinda got better, got another cold within a couple weeks, moved into chest and THEN, after trying oral for 2 weeks, went on IV. Ended up getting a cold that moved into chest on IV too, which was great fun. Now, after 5 weeks on IV meds and FINALLY getting some relief, I am kicking myself that I waited 2 colds that got chesty and nearly 2 months to even go on IV meds. I am pretty sure that is what kept me from getting better faster. The quicker you can start knocking back the buggies, IMO, the more efficient your IV treatment will be.

Good luck to you. Hope you feel better!

Hi everyone,
I appreciate all your replies <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> thanks again.

So here an update, went to c.f clinic today and had a lung function test but my fev1 was only down from 50% to 49% which came as a surprise to me bc I thought it would of been a lot worse from being quite sick. When my specialist saw my lung function results, he thought it could be a bad case of asmatha or allergy. So the plan is, he has prescribed me some prednisone for 1 week and told me if I don't feel any better after taking the prednisone to make an appointment again to see him and sort out i.v's.
I hope it doesn't come to that though, hoping it's just asmatha playing up. Oh HOW i LOVE I.V...*cough* NOT

Oh and in reply to AnD's post, I am using Tobramycin via the e-flow everyday regardless of whether or not i'm on a oral antibiotic.
