Our pharmacy special orders the ABDEK for us - they get it from the CF pharmacy. I guess we could do it ourselves but they take care of it.

I think that would be so much easier. Has anyone else noticed that the billing at the CF Pharmacy has been a little screwy this past year?

I just brought in the box for ADEKs and our pharmacy ordered it for us. DS is on the drops and there's been a shortage of them because gastric bypass patients have problems absorbing ADEKs and have been hoarding them. So lately we've had to deal with the CF pharmacy. They drive me nuts with their billing -- they're supposed to take it out of my credit card - sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I was once told they processed my order and it was sent out -- customer service rep lied. Turns out since it's not covered under my insurance, they weren't sure if I wanted it or not, so they didn't sent it out - -hello? I ordered it didn't I? Costs $9.99 for a 60 cc bottle of drops. The scandiafarm website think it's comparable and my pharmacy charges me $14.00 I prefer the convenience of the pharmacy.

It's my understanding that the shortage doesn't include the adeks tablets. Liza

Hi,
I do also take the chewing ADEKs tablets. Our german pharmazy gets them from the US, but here they cost about three times as much. Until now my insurance pays...
As far as I was told, the ADEKs are better than other vitamins for us, because they are specially treated. The vitamins which need normally fat to be taken by the body ( what is difficult because of our disturbed fat taking) in the ADEKs are water soluable, so we can "use" them better. Thats also what you should tell the insurance.
