why does it cost so much? research and development for the device cost millions!!!!!!

many people look at the manufacturing of a drug or device rather than the millions of man hours, clinical trials, FDA submissions etc that adds up to millions.

Helloooooooo Julie long time no talk Ceci keeps and eye on your baby page all the time and keeps me updated. Can't say for sure if I will be at the walk next year or not -- still have those pesky plans of moving to ND.....

Kayleesgrandma.... thanks for the post - no offense taken -- yes it is crazy how much they cost, I have to agree with Amy on the why and how come... I've listened to some of the doctors explain what goes into drug research and it is amazing how many years it takes to get a new drug on the market -- so I'm assuming it's the same for the vest and you also have to remember the smaller your market for a product, the more you have to charge for it. And for what it's worth Hill-Rom says they have a program for getting used machines out to those who cannot afford them (I think, anyway, I could be wrong about that)
