I've been told that coughing is good to move the mucus also. I can take prescription cough suppressant or Robitussin DM (which comes in a nice little gel cap so no nasty taste). I've been told I cant have TheraFlu or NiteQuil. I only take it if I am sick and in need of sleep or it causes problems in my everyday activites (like going to class or needing excercise). I try to stay away from cough supressants with codine or simular meds since it suppresses my breathing even more, but will take it in it if the other is not working and my doc says its okay. But I try to limit my intake of all of it to as little as possible.

Probably the anise, an antispasmotic. Ever try Pernod? A little stronger, so you add four parts water, which turns it cloudy just like with absinthe. Very tasty.

Our Doc's here have told us that CF'rs are not to touch any kind of cough suppressant and codene based pain killers.
