First of all I would like everyone to say a lil prayer for my brother. He is 30 yrs young and was called in this morning to have his double lung surgery. His surgery started at 4:30 am. I'm not one who prays and I'm not one who believes in god, per say but I have never prayed so much in the last few hours...so pls say a lil prayer for him.

I am 38 yrs young with CF and CFRD. I only take enzymes for my CF and nothing for my CFRD. My question is: Do any of you women out there suffer from your internal body temperature rising to the point where the sweat is just dripping off of you. I can have my house at 17 degrees and I'm still hot bf comes home and turns up the heat cause he's freezing, and then the sweat starts pouring off of me. It's not a one time thing it's an every day thing.

Does anyone know the survival rate of a double lung transplant?

I will definitely say a prayer for your brother . I dont know about the sweating thing, but i know my mom is exactly like you. She can stand out in a snow storm and still be hot. As for the double lung transplant survival, i think it varies. Some live a lot of years. We have some transplant patients on here i'm sure they can give you some better statistics. Please update us on how your brother is doing <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I will definitely say a prayer for your brother too.

I do NOT usually have the sweating you are talking about, but I will say that when my blood sugar is LOW I get uncontrollable sweating. I can be freezing and I will just start to sweat ALL OVER - my legs, arms, face, neck ... Have you tried checking your blood sugar when you feel this way or is it an ALL THE TIME thing. Not meaning just it happens everyday - but meaning all the time during the days.

If you notice that it happens everyday at a certain time or something it may be blood sugar related. One of the symptoms of diabetes if cold sweats. Where physically your body can be cool or cold and you will still sweat. Also when I get low blood sugar or extremely high blood sugar I will get a warm flushed feeling right before I start to sweat.

Just a thought, but I would check your blood sugar the next time it happens cause it may be related to that. If it is definitely NOT that then I guess it is just your body and hormones. My mom LOVES cold weather and it drives me insane.... I have to wear multiple layers IN the house lol.

Take Care,
Lindsey

I agree to check your sugars & believe it or not you can have peri menopausal symptoms which is basically pre-menepause....I hate those hot flashes. I had some with my sugars & it just happened like someone flipped a switch on & it would roll down my boobs...YUCK!
