At my company, they have "Bento Service" (Lunch box service) for those who would rather stay in at the cafeteria and eat Japanese Style foods at 400 yen, rather than go out to a restaurant/fast food place that costs more.
I just happened to notice today, that the kcals for the lunch they serve here was an average of 400kcals. I'd have to eat at least 3 of them to hold me off til dinner! Aside from the idea that it's always "Some kind of fish", and rice (day in and day out..rice!) which doesn't even reach the 'cuisine' level, I would have to either purchase two of them, or bring my own lunch to go with it! (quick calculation is that it's about 1kcal per yen!)
When I first started here, I tried it a few times, but would get hungry by three pm, I just decided to go out to eat after that!
The odd thing is that the other day, I just weighed myself with one of those percent fat measuring scales, and even though I weighed 78kg, my percent fat rate went from the average 24% to 19%! I wonder if it's from the wife's cooking, and eating ramen and sushi for lunches!?
Anyone else have a lunch that's under 500kcals? I figure most of us CF'rs have at least 1,000kcals for meals, and with snacks in between, would run a daily intake of 3,000kcals or more!
