Working from home

I do on Fridays, and have been for over 13 years now. That was something I negotiated with them when I came back to work after maternity leave. My daughter is now 13. ) Mon-Thurs I'm usually in the office. We have a pretty flexible structure. I've got things set up so that when I'm on home IVs (starting later this week), I'll be working from home part time, if I feel up to it. I think a lot depends on what you're doing and whether it can be done independently and remotely. Sometimes I need to be in the office to interact with people or use some of the equipment in the lab. Other times if I'm working on reports and analysis it doesn't really matter where I do it as long as I've got my laptop.

Usually you need to be at a place with a flexible attitude to set such things up. Back when I worked for one of the bigger Aerospace companies with the 7am - 3:42pm punch the clock mindset, there was no way I'd get to work from home. Having high speed internet makes it so much easier! ~Juliet

I was just approved for telecommuting from my job, so I will get to work full time from home. My wife has been having health issues, and I have had to stay home to help her. My boss has been extremely supportive. So, I think it will work out well. I've been in my position for 8 years, so it's not like it's something I just found and got to do.

Something to look into though, is Network Marketing. A good company with a great product is what to look for. Particularly a product new to the market. A strong web presence is also good, where you can present and purchase online.

Anyone can PM me if you would like to discuss further.
