Hello Everyone

I am really worried about Kait, she has been coughing alot these past few days, she just got finished takingTobi for 2 weeks, she just did PFT's about a week ago and they were great, 108%, well she complains about headaches alot!!!!! Well as i am typing this she is just lying here asleep and she just keeps coughing, and coughing and coughing. Normally she does not have a bad cough, I am worried and just don't know what to do . Normally i would call the doctor but she just had a visit and everything seemed fine, we just got the letter from the clinic on Friday. Any advice would really help me right now, do i call the pulm. doc oncall or do i wait a few more days and see what happens.

Hi Kaitsmom

I would say take her to the doctor. There's nothing like a mother's instinct to tell you when you child is not well. Don't worry about her having just been to the doctor. Monique also used to always get sick after we had been to the clinic. Or otherwise she would get sick before and be perfect on the day that we went to clinic. Don't worry about how often she see's the doctor, infections clear up better if caught quickly.

Hope she feel's better soon

Hm, hard to say, but I personally would wait a day or two and see if it's your average cold that Cfers seem to get, or something more serious. Have you asked her how she feels otherwise? Kait is old enough to know how she feels. Or maybe just call the doctor during normal hours with a list of symptoms for his analysis of whether it's something to be concerned about. Good luck!

The TOBI can cause some coughing, has she been on it for sometime or is this a new medication for her?
Sometimes I have asthma type attacks where I cough a lot and can't seem to stop but it lasts a few hours, not days so that doesn't sound like what your daughter has.
Coughing can also cause me to have headaches, (I also get them when I do PFT's) so the headaches could be from all the coughing??
Wish I could be of more help<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">

Does your child have sinus problems? My daughter has alot of sinus problems and whenever she has taken the Tobi it tended to break everything up (sinus area) then it would drain down into her lungs causing the cough. She also complains of headaches when her sinuses are full.

Hi,

She may have just caught a bug from the doctor's visit. 9 times out of 10 I get a little cold after my doc visit. And people don't realize how jarring this coughing is to your whole body sometimes. The headaches might be from all the coughing she's doing. If it comes when she's mostly lying down, or right in the morning, it might be a sinus bug.

Her numbers were so good, 108! I'm sure it's just a bug. Bring her back in to the office, or call them to start a stronger antibiotic maybe?
