Xopenex HFA inhaler cleaning?

AnD

New member
I just got my Xopenex inhaler, and the directions say to rinse it out (instruction picture is under the faucet) with warm water for 30 seconds at least once a week and let it air dry. Is this what everyone else with an inhaler and cf does? Or do I need to boil water to rinse it? How often do you rinse yours?

Any help would be appreciated! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Since it has a cap on it, I'm not worried about the mouthpiece being constantly exposed (like with a neb mouthpiece). I don't rinse mine out, but I do take out the canister and wipe all its surfaces with an alcohol prep pad ever couple days. I give it a more thorough wipe-down after it has traveled in my cosmetic case.

Thanks! That does sound like a good alternative (I thought it was you who had one, but I wasn't 100% sure <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> )
