Xopenex vs. Albuterol

As others, I switched from Albuterol to Xopenex because Al Buterol made my heart race too much and made me too jittery. I get the jitters just slightly with the Xopenex, but not near as bad.

My dr. switched me from an albuterol inhaler to Xopenex inhaler, but I don't really know why. He said it would cause less jitters, but I never had jitters w/ the albuterol. It was the first time the dr. saw me...and I didn't return because I didn't care for him. He changed everything Johns Hopkins had been doing w/o even getting to know me or seeing me a 2nd time!

I actually feel like the albuterol gave me better relief. I don't know why no one has had me use the neb form - I'll have to ask.

Since then I saw another Pulmonary dr. who said I don't need to use BOTH a Combivent inhaler AND Xopenex, so I've been only using the Combivent. Does anyone know anything about this? I'll be running it by my CF dr. when I see her again but just wondered if any of you use Combivent and an albuterol/Xopenex.

Our ins. covers the Xopenex but I think it's a little more.

Hey, if you can get it pre-mixed, why haven't I?! LOL. It would be much easier to travel with premixed ampules than to bring the little glass bottle everywhere.

Thanks for all the responses everyone! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
