Xopenex vs. Albuterol

I use Xopenex 1.25mg. I like it better than Albuterol because my heart no longer races and I don't get so shakey.

I do have a question is it better to do your Xopenex/Albuterol while doing your vest?

I have never been told how to do the two but just wanted to see how others do theirs.

I only do Xopenex usually 2-4 times a day.

Thanks in Advance,
Melissa

I use .5 ml's of albuterol diluted with 2 ml's of saline. Wheezie- you're exactly right, if it's not mixed with something it is gone in about a minute!

I also mix .5 ml's of albuterol w/ 2 ml's of mucomyst.

Thanks for bringing up this topic. I've been wondering about Xopenex myself!

Holly uses the Xopenex instead of the Albuterol because of the hyperness & racing heart also. Ours comes premixed though so no mixing required-that was with albuterol also. She also has the Xopenex inhaler.

I forgot about the Xopenex inhaler- I have one too, and I use it if I'm really short on time, or if I am feeling congested in the middle of the day, too, and am away from home. It's really conveinent!
