AS some of you may remember i was very sick with pneumonia and pleurisy and in the hospital 2 weeks. When i got there ( under protest, i truely didnt want to go ) i could barely stand straight because it was hard to breathe. My O2 sats were low and the idea of doing a pft was out of the question. Two days before i left the hospital i did a pft and had 30% fev1. My Dr. said it must have been in the 20's when i first came in. I was a bit freaked out about needing oxygen, because i had never needed it before so it really worried me, that i'd never be off of it. Three weeks ago i had my follow up visit and my fev1 was 33%. It was better than 30% but i was still uncomfortable with it. ( Before all this i was in the mid to high 40's). Well yesterday i had my clinic visit and guess what? My fev1 was 41% YAY !! I'm back in the 40's.... Kind of ironic that i would be happy with being in the 40's because i dont think 40's is so great, but i am thanking God i am near back to where i was before the pneumonia. I was sick almost 8 weeks with it and had my doubts that i would ever fully recover. I have never been that sick before and as much as i hated having to go in the hospital, i thanked my one Dr. for talking me into it.
I also thank God for helping me get thru this....
AND i thank you all for your well wishes and prayers <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">
