IN defense of Amy......she & I were both concerned with the marital problems that had been occuring as well as his depression/suicidal issues. It is something to take into account in addition to the CF that will be part of the child's life. It is their decision and maybe Amy's approach is rough, but I do understand her concern. I will also say, as Terri pointed out, that many people have thought and even done things that (if you want to be a tight a$$) would make them "inappropriate" for parenthood. Damn that would wipe out a lot of the population. As long as both partners are aware, understand the possibilities and are in agreement then I say go for it. So as far as the testing that came back....HURRAY which is really all this thread was for. To give us results of his carrier status!

Amy: shut up! I don't care who thinks that I am being a b*tch by saying that. But you don't know me, you don't know Brian and don't know our situation. So stay out of it if you aren't going to be happy that I finally have some good news in my life.

He is doing much better. We actually had the blood draw for the testing done BEFORE the suicide attempt. We are NOT planning on trying right away. But its nice to know that when we ARE ready, that we don't have to worry about this particular issue.

The unfortunate part, from your perspective I suppose, of posting on a board is that people will respond to what you are saying.

If you want to sensor responses, post a blog.

Otherwise, I will continue to be horrified by the fact that you are considering having a child and I will always hope for the child's sake that you will reconsider.

Amy, here's a reminder of the most important grade school lesson you failed to learn - "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
</end quote></div>

No, I will always stand up for and defend those who are defenseless.

In this case, it's a child who has the potential to be born to a father with severe mental issues.

If you don't like what I have to say, block me.

And Amy, there are plenty of people on here who wrote to Jade's blog that they had either attempted or thought about attempting suicide. That does not make him someone that she should not want to have a baby with. Don't rain on her parade.</end quote></div>

Terri I wonder if you ever get tired of failing to change me.....

<b> I must have failed to have seen the sign on this thread that said "Stand by idly while you watch others potentially harm innocent life." </b>

That has never been and never will be something I will subscribe to.

And those of you that do, just to keep the peace of make sure people like you.... <u>shame on you. </u>
