Zithromax

I recently started taking Zithromax and my doctor prescribed 250 mg 1X a day.
I've seen on here where others take it every other day, or on M-W-F, etc. and I guess I'm just curious...does anyone else take it daily?
I'm also curious why doctors would only have you take it 3X a week as opposed to daily?
With my wonderful memory (not), I'm sure my doctor probably has me taking it every day since I would probably forget to take it 3 days a week or every other day.

I think it stays in your blood for a really long time, so there really is no need to take it more then every other day....

Gives your kidneys a break too

It depends on whether you're on the 250mg or the 500mg. I take mine MWF. The way the drug is designed for the mainstream, it's a whopper dose of antibiotics that get into the system quickly. However, for us it's a maintenance med, so we are prescribed a continual does, not a tapering one.

I think the every other day aspect of it could also be to make sure we don't drop weight. That's just a guess though. In Hollywood, zithromax is the latest trend for losing weight quickly. People go to their doctors for a "z-pack" and take it to lose weight in a short period of time. Disgusting, no?
