Hi there,

It is recommended that all SSRIs are taken in the morning because
they stimulate neuro receptors in the brain and if taken at night
they can cause insomnia.
I tried it but didn't really like it. It gave me night sweats and i was always grinding my teeth.
I like the ones that make you relax more...like valium or whatever. I don't find myself depressed all the time....just anxious and in need of some relaxation
I started taking Zoloft after my second embolization. I was having uncontrollable panic and anxiety attacks that i couldnt deal with anymore. I started on 25 mg. and went up to 50 mg. and have been on that a little over 3 years now. Without it i would lose what little sanity i have left...........lol They started me on it while i was still in the hospital the day after my second embolization. I remember the doctor telling me it would take 2 weeks for the full effect to kick in. What was odd is i remember walking in the hallway ( i always walk the halls when im in the hospital for exercise) well anyway, i was walking and for a few minutes the anxiety shakes would go away and i'd feel happy and normal again for a few minutes. Each time it happened the "normal" feelings stayed longer and longer till the shakiness went totally away. Within a week i was feeling totally myself again I have a feeling as long as i continue to have cf and hemoptysis i will never get off Zoloft .
Honestly I think reactions to anti-depressants varies wildly from person to person.
Both my parents take Zoloft and have had wonderful results from it. Infact most people atleast tolerate it well even if it doesn't help.
Zoloft made me go pyscho. But that wasn't near as bad as Effexor! For me Wellbutrin and Paxil were the most tolerable. Turns out I do better without drugs and I don't think I was ever chemically depressed, my problems are/were situational and behavioural and therefore therapy has done best
