I agree with the below post. You definitely need an IEP! I had one and it helped me a lot. They made it so I had a lesser work load than the rest of the students. I had to home school the last two years of high school because I was so far behind. No one should have to go through this. It sucks...
The Original Post was quite a while ago but hopefully you're still lurking around here.
I actually met my husband on eHarmony dating site 5 years ago. We just got married last month! My situation is a little different as I've already had my worst days behind me. I had a double lung transplant...
I had my double lung transplant from CHOP. I came to know the transplant dr.'s well before my tx and after. I only see them once a year now but I know Dr. Spahr, I've seen him the past two years I've gone for a visit and he is great! I recommend him! Who is retiring?
Jeanne, I was transplanted in Pittsburgh, PA. Just putting that out there in case anyone else in wondering. Jane- Sorry I have no info about Cleveland. I have been hearing many success stories about Cleveland over in the transplant group on Facebook.
Hello everyone,
I have many friends here. I wanted to share with members (and new people!) I just celebrated my 7 year double lung transplant anniversary. 3-13-2007 I'm doing extremely well. My lungs are healthy and I'm very happy to announce my engagement to my boyfriend of 4 years! :)
Thanks...
Yesterday I celebrated 7 years post double lung transplant. (^) I'm doing extremely well. Healthy, happy and engaged to be married! :)
Anyone with transplant questions feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer with my knowledge.
what do you mean isn't the standard mild form? To my knowledge, deltaF508 is the most common mutation in People with CF. Although, I'm not 100% sure that the CF condition will become worse if you have two copies which makes it ddf508. I think each persons current CF condition can differ because...
Good point Kaethe108! I read the other post as well.
Does your partner know exactly what you need to be doing from a medical standpoint? If they do know that you're not helping yourself then they should be concerned and worried for you. Maybe even frustrated. I'm sure he/she wants you to be as...
This post makes me wonder why individuals with CF are suddenly getting sick in their 20's and 30's.....Maybe because their not doing anything to help themselves...
No offense to anyone whom does most things they need to be doing. Unfortunately, it goes both ways. It's not very fair. Don't do...
True, I agree!
If someone truly loves you no matter what the circumstances are then, they would not leave simply because it's "too tough" for whatever reason. Of course there is lots of extra baggage that comes with CF but that won't be enough to push away your significant other. You just need...
You're digging your own grave. I could go on and on about how stupid it is not doing anything but I won't. SoyaSauce mentioned a great blog/story to follow if you're looking for that type of support. Unfortunately, a lot of Cfers eventually figure things out for themselves like TwistofChaos...
Amikacin can cause permanent hearing loss. It's best to schedule an appointment with an audiologist asap if you are able to. I'm sorry you are experiencing these side effects. :( Hopefully it's nothing too serious. Keep us posted. Hugs to you...
I agree. They do have a bit of a weird taste to them and I swallow them very quickly as others have also mentioned. Luckily I have trouble with my smell/taste so it's not too bad for me.
My doctor has told me that enzymes take effect and are working for about an hour. If I'm not sure that I'm going to finish an entire meal then, I'll take 3 enzymes right away before I eat. But, If I decide about halfway or more through eating that I'm going to eat more than I thought then I will...
I've never heard the restriction about water that isn't bottled. I drink water from the sink faucet all the time. Although, I filter it though a Brita (water system filter) water pitcher.
I think a dog is great to have. Just remember you have to take care of it though. (Buy food, walk it, take it to the vet for shots) Make sure you are healthy enough to do those things if you are living alone the majority of the time. Dogs are very loveable and have such high spirit and joy...
To others responses: A question is a question. There is no need to be sarcastic and rude. If you personally think this post was a "stupid" question then why bother answering with your attitude. What good does it do for anyone here? Are you proud of yourself for being the one with the most common...
