I have to say a few things, one I was an ER nurse for several years, for a few of those years I specifically worked in a Pediatric ER/Trauma center. CF is one of many horrible diseases children are affected with, You were there for an after hour x ray, nothing more. There are children who could...

Hey I am not anemic, my Hgb was 14. I get labs drawn weekly as well as peek and troughs. My last blood work was picture perfect. There was a mix up with my peak and trough levels and I will not know the results until tomorrow. I do not have ringing in my ears or kidney pain but my joints are...

I am at a loss, and truth be told a bit overwhelmed. I have been on IVs since October something but just started a more rigorous IV schedule a little over a week ago.
Before I started treatment for the MAC and the other NTM and now the MRSA. I was feeling very, very tired. I seriously felt like...

I have never been treated based on lab values. I almost never in my entire life have had a very high WBC.. only when I am on IV prednisone.
I will say I have been on IV antibiotics now for about six weeks ( I think) and just last week I started Amikacian last Friday, that drug kicks butt, in...

Sorry for me Vanco actually worked better then Zyvox, though I am currently on Zyvox because apparently in addition to MAC I am now culturing MRSA again...
I am too afraid to try anything radical going off the antibiotics at this point because I was left to flounder for over a year without...
Preliminary results are usually in in 72 hours. If something shows up, depending on what it is it can take a while to grow out, it took over six weeks for my MAC to culture out totally.. and less then that for the Mycobacteria Fortuium to grow, It took four months for the sensitivities to come...
