    Advair

I've used it in the past and it helped my breathing, but it aways gave me thrush, despite rinsing my mouth afterwards. Now I take either Symbicort or Flovent + Serevent and I don't have the problem with thrush and it seems to work on my lungs just as well.

    Saline Rinse...w/out saline

LOL, ouch. I have done something similar. I use a Sinupulse to rinse my sinuses, and I'm supposed to run vinegar + water through it every few weeks to clean out the salt. Well, TWICE I have forgotten to run plain water though it after running the vinegar, and then, when I went to rinse my...

    Daughter has cultured Staph. A

I'm pretty sure that the normal population does not culture Staph, because, if I culture Staph, my culture results read "Staph." But if I don't culture it (or PA), my culture results read "Normal Respiratory Flora."

    Cayston on vacation

I am almost positive that you can't boil the Altera metal head. I always pack my baby bottle sterilizer. It is a pain in the butt, but I don't really know what else to do, other than buying a sterilizer when I get to my destination. Edited to add: I just read this on Cayston's website: <ol>...

What do you do to limit bouts of sinusitis?

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote><i>Originally posted by: <b>edan</b></i> Kristen (or anyone else who knows). I have heard of the baby shampoo before, but I have a question. Do you culture pseudomonas already? I am afraid the shampoo, not sterilized, will cause a bacterial infection of some...

What do you do to limit bouts of sinusitis?

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote><i>Originally posted by: <b>saveferris2009</b></i> Lots of CFers have untreated allergies. </end quote> I was just coming back to post about this! I started allergy shots back in November and I think it's also helped my sinuses (and my lungs).

What do you do to limit bouts of sinusitis?

The following treatments have really, really, REALLY helped me. I went from constant postnasal drip and sinus headaches to hardly any symptoms: - Mix 1/4 cup alkalol, 3/4 cup water, a Neilmed hypertonic saline packet, 3 drops baby shampoo, and one drop grapefruit seed extract. Use this to rinse...

Book Recommendations for new CF Parent

I am not the parent of a child with CF, but I wanted to chime in that I love Child of Mine! It has been so helpful in feeding my fussy-eating daughter. I am happy to see people recommending it!

    Anesthesia issues?

Wow! This is so interesting! I haven't had issues with general anesthesia, but I have always had the problem with novocain at the dentist. And, after I gave birth, the nurse commented on how I had used ALL of my bag of "epidural numbing stuff" (not sure of the correct term), and that she had...

    IUI- advice please

Are you taking any fertility drugs as part of the IUIs? I did two natural IUIs and they both failed, but I've done three clomid-IUIs and they all resulted in pregnancy (one was a m/c, one was my daughter, and I just found out about the third today). I'm not sure why the clomid helps, but it...

Anybody try a dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar free diet?

I like the idea of trying one thing at a time. I eliminated dairy for about six months while I was nursing (because I thought maybe my daughter had a milk protein intolerance). I did not notice any difference in my health. I am interested in seeing how eliminating grains and sugar may help, but...
