What is usually the cause of death for a CFer who has had a successful lung transplant?

What is usually the cause of death for a CFer who has had a successful lung transplant? I agree with the other posters about Chronic Rejection being likely the most common issue to affect us post lung transplant. I also wanted to put it out there because for a few of my friends that have passed...

    why not

Also something to consider, because I have discussed this with my transplant docs. Not only the stress on the body but the carrying of a child and then the immediate after care a woman sometimes neglects themselves a little more than they would normally. Possibly a contributing factor. Otherwise...

List your comfort sick food here

Ice cream has been and will continue to be my go to food when I don't feel well. Any stomach issue or nausea I have Ice cream takes it away every time. If it is a head cold I want chicken noodle soup, hot chocolate and grilled cheese and bananas/oranges. Lindsey

    Problems with Levaquin

I took Levaquin for years as my alternate to TOBI - One month on and one month off when I wasn't on my TOBI month. I didn't have issues until about a yr after taking it the first time. I had joint pain and tenderness and ended up breaking out with leukocytoclastic vasculitis - basically if you...

    Living with boyfriend

From what I have dealt with - when you are 18 your SSD or SSDI check comes to you regardless of where you are living. I work at a credit union and we will not accept a US Treas check into an account unless the person it is made payable to is on the account. There are times when you have a check...

Just watched the Bucket List movie...

Lex - I think it is a matter of saying I will because I can. I don't have the fear of dying so much anymore BUT every year since my transplant I try to make at least 5 goals for myself for the coming year when I reach my anniversary date. I have long term goals but I make goals that I WILL do...

A new word in my vocabulary

Hi there Just wanted to say I know where you are coming from and can say it is terrifying, scary, upsetting, depressing, aggravating, nerve-racking, numbing, and often leaves you feeling completely helpless. I can also say that coming out the other side will give you a sense of accomplishment...

adhesive allergy with a PICC line

I have an adhesive allergy as well and for me the best thing for me out of everything that was ever tried was any clear adhesives - if they were white they were the worst. After a few years of using tegaderm I started having issues with getting blisters under the tegaderm and massive itching to...
