Hi Rebecca,
First of all, I think you will be fine to work 3 days after you get the port, as long as your job isn't tremendously physical. My port still hurts, but only to the point of needing tylenol. And the worst pain is during/right after hypertonic from coughing. If I were not in the...

I'd try to get the insurance company to cover Pancreaze, but in the meantime, I'd try miralax and stay with the 4 enzymes. Miralax has been a definite help to me in make stools more normal.

Hi there! Sometimes it's hard to give advice without enough information and it's also can be difficult to read someone's tone online. I think most of the responders were just trying to figure out your situation better and asking questions to understand more clearly. I am so glad that you are...

It appears that my high bilirubin levels are probably not caused by gall stones, butby a sluggish liver??? Anyone have this or encounter this temporarily? What was the treatment and/or cause?

I loved the posts by Allansarmy and Athanasia! Both are very inspiring. I just want to add that the Lord heals in one other way--the ultimate healing of bringing you home to heaven. I am not afraid to die because I know that in heaven I will be running and not once stopping to cough. I am...

Hi! I just want to tell you that coming onto this forum has been so helpful, because you find others who are exactly in your shoes or who have been there. Another place I found to be very helpful (in high school and beyond) is church. Youth groups are awesome support bases. Anyway, I agree with...

Pain medication has always made me nauseus, and possibly the anesthesia. I can feel the soreness now that everything has wore off, but I'd rather have a little pain than nausea, and the pain is not that bad. Mostly when I turn or stretch or cough. <img...

Well, my procedure is done, although with the dressing on, I can't tell what it looks like yet. The worst part so far is nausea. I haven't thrown up, but I'm not ready to eat yet either. Praising God that everything went well!

Thank you Lauren for both the pictures and all the info. The more I know about it, the less anxious I am. I will definitely be asking to seethe port andverifying where it will be placedbefore they give me the loopy drugs. And finding...

Thanks, Lauren. I was confused. I found images of ports, but not what they looked liked placed. I thought the whole rubber-looking bubble and metal around the edge was going to stick out. Now, I get why it may hurt to access it. So glad for the cf forum.
