Took the first Step...scheduling port surgery!

Good luck Caitlin! I think that a port is a great option for a lot of people, and I'm sure you made the right choice.

    Cayston cough

Melissa, Thanks for your input. I think I am going to call my doctor today and see if he suggests taking a cough suppressant or if it's better to keep Cayston on reserve for exacerbations only. Great advice, thank you.

    Cayston cough

I just started a new routine of alternating Tobra with Cayston. I was only on Cayston once before and I really liked it and thought it worked well. I'm excited about this new routine because now I will never have an "off" period and hopefully that will keep me feeling good!

...

    25 pounds in 5 months...

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I have also gained a lot of weight in the recent months. I was up 12-15 lbs in the past 9 months. I was already overweight to begin with, so now I'm at an unhealthy weight and definitely not feeling good about it. I am pretty sure it was due to the...

many without power and water in the NorthEast

Oh man! Sorry to hear about all those without power. I feel very fortunate that we didn't lose ours - the hurricane spared our city but pounded many cities around us. You will be in my thoughts.

    Good CF doc in Ohio?

UHC in Cleveland has an excellent CF program. I have been going there since I was a baby. They have 2 adult CF doctors who are really great.

    nebulizer question

Hi Nicki, Tobi in the Pari neb generally takes about 25 minutes - that's normal. The only other option that I know of is to switch to tobramycin using the eFlow machine. That takes approximately 5 minutes. For me, the tobramycin in the eFlow works much better than Tobi.
