    Working and CF

I work 40+ hours a week as an administrator for a state medical program. I've been working since I was 16. The truth is that I love my work and I thrive on it. I am on oxygen 24/7, but have gotten used to dealing with carting the tank around with me. I am fortunate to have worked out a...

Is this person trying to make money off CF

Arizona, in addition to its Medicaid program (known as AHCCCS), has a program called Children's Rehabilitative Services (CRS). CRS covers care for a variety of medical conditions specified in Arizona law, such as spina bifida, cystic fibrosis. By statute, it is a children's program, and is...

FYI, I live and work with health care programs in Arizona, and have no idea why he is saying Arizona eliminated their adult CF program. Seems very suspicious to me.

    Postural Drainage

FYI, in the hospital when they do my CPT they generally will ask if I can go into the "trendelenberg" position, which is where they tilt the bed so your head is lower than your feet while clapping. It is great if you can tolerate it because the gravity definitely makes it easier for the mucus...

    Postural Drainage

You can also do just postural drainage without the clapping, although obviously it won't jar loose as much mucus. But, if you cannot tolerate any CPT, the postural drainage is still recommended over doing nothing. The gravity will help mucus drain from the small airways into the larger ones...

My PFT's are down... any advice?

Hi! It's Christmas afternoon and everyone else is taking a nap or otherwise resting, so I thought I'd check up on some of the cfers. I'm sorry to hear you're still not doing better. One thing that has helped me with the pain when I 've had pleurisy is a heating pad or some other form of...

    Chat anyone?

I'm on. I got a late start on my vest, so would be happy to chat and shake at the same time!

My PFT's are down... any advice?

wow, that's a new one for me. I hadn't realized prednisone could lose its effectiveness. I know that there are a variety of diseases for which prednisone is used continually for years (certain cancers, lupus for example). Amy, maybe you could shed some light on the prednisone issue. Lauren...
