I'm on Fortaz right now and definitely agree with the bad smell of it. Everything that comes out of me stinks, and everything I cough up tastes like it--it's nasty. I'm embarrassed to use the restroom away from home because of the smell. At least I don't smell it on myself all day, though...

My doctor just told me to start taking it twice daily when I was having a bad run of health. It seemed to help, so I've just kept it up. That was probably at least 5 years ago.

Well, it's good news although a bit strange. I went today to see what the deal was, and when the nurse accessed my port, it immediately worked beautifully and got a nice blood return. In this case, strange is fine with me =) Thanks for your input everyone--you saved me from being worried...

Thanks for the quick responses, everyone. I've had this port for 2 1/2 years and have never had any issues, so this made me nervous. Hopefully it is a clot and can be easily fixed.
