I went yesterday for my monthly port flush, and the nurse couldn't get a blood return. All that came out was this icky brown stuff. Once that was out, nothing else would come out. She finally spoke to a doctor, and he said it sounds like I probably have a clot in the line. That sounds like a...

Hi! I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. That waiting deal always seems like the hardest part to me.
I'm certainly no expert on this topic but am pretty sure the sweat chloride results don't have any real bearing on prognosis. Back when I was diagnosed, testing consisted of only...

Well, I've heard that also but wouldn't say it's been true in my case. For a long time I cultured only PA, but added MRSA maybe 7 or 8 years ago. It's just made things more complicated. Often we have to treat both at the same time, or we treat one, and the other immediately begins causing...

That sounds rather miserable!
I always had some trouble with my PICC dressings, but not anything as bad as what you're describing. The only thing that helped a little bit was the nurses would rotate the dressing around each week as much as possible--turning them sideways, diagonal, and any...

I've been on the TOBI month on/off routine for about 10 years now. While my PA does seem to be a bit more controlled on the on months, I often have to take another antibiotic on top of it. My understanding is that it's meant more for long-term control rather than to actually treat it by...

Well, I don't clean my actual machine beyond wiping it down.
I'm a bit confused as to whether you really mean masks or regular nebulizers. I use the Pari LC plus and LC sprint. If it's actually a mask, I don't know anything about cleaning those as I've never used one.

I agree that it basically just requires routine. It can be annoying and inconvenient but is definitely worth it in the long run.
Have you tried doing nebs in the car? That helps me on particularly busy days. I keep an extra compressor in my car and have to plan ahead to take meds and all...
