I guess with the little ones the aim these days is to keep them as healthy for as long as possible. Becasue they can't...
I am pretty new to the mucus thing as my 4 year old has just recently figured out how to cough it up. She seems to cough up some each time she goes swimming and sometimes after physio. Once you start being able to bring up the mucus for a culture, do you still have to ungergo a yearly bronchoscopy?

Also Tanja congratulations on such a big effort taking care of your little CFer's mostly on your own. Husbands do tend to work a lot. I too am in a similar situation except my husband works away on the mines approximately 4 weeks at a time. My step son lives with us full time and I have my 2...

What I have been told my doctors is that anything should be used with care. Even natural products. It pays to do a little reading on the subject on how to safely use such things, before actually using them.
I personally have always used aromatherapy oils (I only use 100% pure essential oils)...

Oh yeah and on the chickenpox issue......my eldest daughter caugt the chickenpox when she was nearly 4. I was worried at first because a couple of days before the spots showed she had a fever and then the cold symptoms started. It was the quickest I had jumped to call the CF nurse and ask if we...

Tanja, I really do agree with your concerns. While we shouldn't overprotect our kids to the point where they can't go out and play like healthy children etc I am all for that...However I make it my responsibility to keep them as healthy as possible in my home. Yes they should be exposed to bugs...

Bribery always works best for me with children. About a week before christmas Mikayla had told me that she really wanted a fairy floss machine and she had already asked for a pound puppy toy from Santa. So I suggested that perhaps if she swallowed an ezyme she could then write to Santa to tell...

And I too am from Australia. I have been told by my daughters CF doctors that they are reluctant to recommend them in Australia because there is no studies to show they are better than manual CPT. They are expensive and they would prefer not to encourage anything other than manual CPT.

I recently put my 4 year old on probioticcs and haven't noticed an increase in bowel actions. Has anything else changed in her diet lately such as increased appettite?
There are some medications which can interfere with probitics so you may want to ask your doctor if anything she is already...

Toddlers. Can't live with them can't live without them. They are sooooo cute but such hard work! I also have two little ones with CF and all you can do is persist. My eldest is terrible at sitting down and eating an entire meal. I try to make a huge over the top deal of it when she eats all her...

This is an easy one. Enjoy your child no matter what. With children if it's not CF to worry about then it is just something else. I am dreading the day that my daughter is old enough to go to the park by herself (her dad thinks 21 is too young!).
