how tall are you?how much do you weigh?

5'6 and ALMOST 130....so close! I have to do J-tube feedings at night plus eat regularly throughout the day to keep it there, but overall worth it.

    Struggles

I've only met one other CF person, and really we were kept pretty far away from each other. I think we said "hi" and that's about it. My mom had heard about these "CF camps" they used to have when I was younger and asked my doctor about it. The doctor was very adamant, to say the least, about...

    Weight

Hmmm I'm not sure what all you have tried...Do you already take supplements? If you can, add those - even if you can't finish an entire can, it would still be beneficial. I've also mixed in powders (like carnation instant breakfast type of things) into puddings, mashed potatoes, cereal milk...

    O2 sats

muchlove: Call your O2 company and tell them that you are flying and see if they provide POCs for flights. Oftentimes the company will take care of the paperwork they need from the doc. If not, they can e-mail/mail/fax you the paper work they would need and you can bring it to your doc to be...

    O2 sats

Insurance wise, I think they look for about 91% while at rest and below 90% during activity, so the six minute walk will help determine what your O2 looks like while you are moving around. (At least those were the numbers we were given to get it covered -- It probably varies to a certain...

    Cayston users

    1. Yes, but now I'm switching to two week increments of each. 2. Yes 3. When I first started it I felt like it really helped - my lungs just felt better, but I don't think I had a significant change in PFTs. Now that I've been on it for a bit I don't feel like it helps as much. The docs are...

    J-tube leaking

I had a J-tube placed in February and despite the ridiculous ordeal that turned into, it's been awesome in helping me gain weight. I no longer look disgustingly emaciated. Woo! Anyway, the tube site itself is constantly leaking. It's not a lot, but enough where I have to constantly wear a...

    Low oxygen saturation, good pft's?

Vera - Nighttime O2 isn't that bad. It's a bit annoying to get used to, but pretty soon it'll just be habit. It's definitely better for your heart in the long run. If you find out your desat-ing at night, after you go O2 you'll probably start to notice that you feel better in the mornings. I...
