Shannon. To bring a child into this world knowing full well of the consequenses is neglect and abuse. You know as well as I that life can be hell, physically, emotionally, and financially. And to doom a child to live with all this ***** is plain wrong. It is distasteful to me when those...

I totally disagree with you. Silence only serves to entitle, and flirting with children's lives is NOT something to shut one's mouth about. It is morally wrong. Do you keep quiet when a parent abuses a child? Sexually molests them? Endangers their lives? If so, shame on you!

I know what I am going to say is going to be controversial, but I have no respect nor can muster one iota of sympathy for someone who continues to have children after one child is born with CF.

Yes. I was diagnosed with this as well after a bone density scan. I was quite shocked because I choked down milk ALL the time. I was the first to point out to others that they should drink more milk to avoid osteoporosis. Ironic isn't it. I take calcium twice a day.

Yes I thought of the ethics myself. Although, if I ever entertained the idea, I would have all parties screened so that the child would at most be a carrier. I'd NEVER put my child in such a position.
However, that doesn't seem to stop families with CF children from having more children...

Now I know that a vast majority of CF men are sterile, because they have a congenital defect- they lack a vas deferens. About 98% of us can't have children because the sperm from the testes can travel to the semen.
That being said, has anyone ever heard of a way to bypass this process- somehow...
