Even with enzymes, I would never expect her stools to be normal if I were you. Remember, the natural ones are always the best and ours don't work. So we need the fakes, but they still don't work as well as your natural ones do.
You can multiple false negatives on sweat tests. You can never get a false positive though. It's always safe to retest. It won't be the end of the world if your daughter has CF. And in the end it will be better to know ASAP if she does because then she can get the proper treatment. So let them...
One other thing I'd ask..... do you have any children? Or have you tried with no luck? Because CF men often are sterile. So if you've tried and failed, that might also be a little clue. But let us know what happens.
Well they pretty much knew I had CF at 2 days old, and was officially diagnosed at 6 months (they couldn't do sweat testing in under 6 month olds back in 1984). But let's see. I've heard before about people getting diagnosed in their 20s and 30s. It's much rare-r, and almost certainly means you...
You know what else... if you're just going on a trip and don't want to take the Vest with you... have someone beat on your back a few times a day while you're gone. Or use a Flutter. Or bring along one of those massager things and place it on your chest. Either way, don't skip the trip based...
Katie's so funny. lol. None of it offended or upset me Katie, you should know now that it's very difficult to offfend me. Uhm, what else? Oh yeah, my case. It seems more vicious to healthy people because they don't deal with it, but as far as a 20 year old with CF goes, I'm actually doing pretty...
Hey Jarod, I go through thougts and times like that all the time. IM me sometime, okay? AbsintheSorrow. We can chitchat about people suck. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"><img src="i/expressions/rose.gif" border="0">
One thing about the smoking in dorms... if you say that medically you can't have a smoking roommate and then don't comply, I'd put up a huge stink about it. Don't just deal with it nicely. Be rude and pushy if need be. If they put you with a smoking roommate who won't leave the room to smoke...
A few things I'd look out for... is obviously, you'll get used to this with time, but don't ask if he's okay every time he coughs. He's liable to cough a lot. I'm trying to think here in reference to 4 year olds... I was going to say ask him secretly if he needs to use the bathroom because for...
There's no need to overdo it, not if this is just a CF patient, and not a post-transplant patient. I've lived in a house that is fairly clean as in it's picked up. My mom cleans the toilets maybe once a week once every other week. We have lots of plants, and I live with 5 (up until recently, but...
I don't know at all what kind of questions you want answered, but I have attended one year of college so far (going back in September) 2 hours away from home with CF. Email or IM me anytime and ask more specific questions and I'll be happy to answer anything. I'm very open. AbsintheSorrow = my...

To the 48 year old poster with CF... just wanted to put in a real quick comment. When CFers or non-CFers call you lucky, we are not meaning to offend, I'm sure. Obviously, no one with CF is lucky. But if you weren't diagnosed until 21, and you are currently 48, then you're doing better than most...
I hope this doesn't sound like I'm taunting Coll, but I will point out that I was in nursery school and regular school ASAP and I didn't culture pseudomonas and go on IV meds until I was 16, almost 17. So take that knowledge and do with it what you will.
I know, I wasn't judging. Was just making a point in case you were unaware. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"><img src="i/expressions/rose.gif" border="0">
