Does pressing on the area hurt? Ruling out an occult fracture, I would ask about skelaxin. It's as effective (for me) as flexeril, but without sleeping 15 hours a day.

Do you know which bacteria you culture?
I've never taken imipenem, but I would say give it a week and see what happen with your PFTs. Imipenem does not treat MRSA, so if you culture that it would be the wrong antibiotic.
