    Pulmozyme

You could ask about Mucomist (NAC - a precursor to GSH; see Amy's blog on Dr. Warwick's approach) or you could research GSH (Glutathione) therapy. We chose the latter and it works really well to keep his lungs clear. It also has other benefits but it is not currently used in most CF clinics...

    Weight gain

I would agree with thyroid issues being a possibility. Fast weight gain or loss is a symptom of thyroid imbalances.

Could it be something other than CF?

I think treating for CF is very wise based on what you are discribing. Until the genetic tests come back it is important to give enzymes and vitamins to prevent serious malabsorption issues such as vitamin deficiencies due to fat and protein loss in stools. After being undiagnosed, the body...

New mom and I am scared

The genetic test is for your son not for you. In infants is is often very difficult to get enough sweat for the sweat test so it is recommended that you go with the guthrey panel or ambry genetic test immediately if CF is suspected in the infant. They prick the foot and collect the sample (we...

    Glutathione

Diane, exactly! There are some situations where inhalation is not recommended. It think it is trickier for those who are a bit further along in CF or culturing certain bacterias/fungi as you mention to use it directly into the lungs. Our son is so young we felt it was great preventative...

allergy testing & question about shots

Have you looked into NAET for treatment? It is based on desensitizing the body to the allergens using acupuncture points (no needles). It is painless and I have met 3-4 people who have been able to stop reacting to foods they were severely allergic to and get rid of seasonal allergies all...

    Glutathione

Our son has been doing nebbed GSH (reduced buffered from TheraNaturals) since he was 18 months old (2 1/2 now) and has done tremendously. His lungs are clear (though if he misses you can tell so we know he needs it), he has grown really well, hasn't cultured PA since we started, and his...
