My son has an insulin pump, minimed. We've found that this really helps to stabilise the BGL's. Before the pump Sam had Novarapid (short acting) and Lantus (long acting).
The pump uses Nova rapid, and delivers small pulses of measured insulin throughout the 24hrs, in addition to bolus...

can I just add, I was amazed at the amount of 'safety net' entwined in the ph3 vertex trial...bloods were going to Singapore, urines to some other country, sweat tests somewhere else....very strict protocals...I guess that's a good thing, no possible way results can be tampered with.
