I use a 22 guage. My port is in my chest and I use a 3/4 inch needle. Mine seems to go slow sometimes. And it doesn't always give blood. Good luck with yours, I hope the sensitivity goes away and it's more comfortable for you soon! ~Kelli 29 w/CF
