Just to add to everyone elses comments, how it was explained to me was that the pump is the closest you get to having a normal functioning pancreas...it does all that the above posters have said.

We received a remote with ours, but like Skye said, we've never uses it. Apparently it's best functiopn is for young children and babies. I agree about the psychological thing, I'd be worried it didnt work etc.
