Firstly, I highly doubt that their Dr. was speaking directly about this site.
Secondly, there is a lot of crap information on the internet about every subject. I think this site is great and provides an excellent source of information, advice, and support but we've had people come on and try...
I thought that the school had to set up a 504 for kids that qualify and as far as I know CF qualifies. They are required to make reasonable accomdations for your child based on the ADA.
We've had some trouble with our district as well and had to bring in a social worker (from our CF center)...

When Sean was first diagnosed at 12 weeks Pulmozyme hadn't yet been approved for children under 6. At two Sean was part of a study which involved the benefits of Pulmozyme on the under 6 set. These benefits were monitored via High res CT since most kids under 6 aren't yet experts at PFT's.

Sean was on Advair for a while but we didn't notice any difference. His Dr. switched him to Singulair to control his inflammation. I've also heard of folks that are using Zithromax or Ibuprophen for controlling inflammation. I guess it just depends on your Dr.

Ditto what Melissa said.
Keep us posted. I'm curious, how come CPS didn't do anything? Have you tried a follow-up call to a supervisor? I know how CPS can be; leaving kids in danger while taking others from loving homes. In fact, I think there was a post like that here not so long ago about...

Mac,
Didn't you post a week ago or so? Have you tried calling Child Protective Services? It's probably the quickest route to getting the child removed. If I remember, the child's father lives out of state and the child is living with her mother?
Is there more to this story that we're not...

Thanks for the info. How early did they do the sweat test?
Sean had his at 12 weeks and I remember them telling us that they can be a little inconclusive on infants. Of course, Sean's numbers were through the roof so there was little question.

Hi all,
As some of you may remember, my brother and sister-in-law were expecting their first child in March. In spite of all my encouraging neither my brother or my SIL were screened for CF genes.
Well, due to complications with the pregnancy the baby was delivered early at 32 weeks. She...
