My son was hospitalized 2 1/2 weeks ago with a bout of bleeding. He was in for 10 days. About 4-5 days after coming home he started hurting in his stomach. We tried some laxatives and he got some relief but started hurting really bad on Fri. He went to the local ER- not our CF hospital which is an hour away. They did x rays and said he had a partial small bowel obstruction- he was admitted and had a cat scan which didnt show an obstruction. They waited longer than the 2 hrs after he drank the contrast liquid- not sure if that matters or not. They gave him pain med and watched him over night. When he woke up he felt better and they dismissed him- 4 hours later he was hurting again. That was yesterday- I took him pain med and told him to eat soft diet. Again this morning he felt ok but is hurting again now. Not sure what my question is but just wanted some feedback on anyones experiences and what you would do. I have a call in to the dr we saw over weekend but again these arent the CF docs. With the bleeding we didnt have a great experience with the CF docs calling us back. We are new to the adult docs-he just turned 22 and we have never had this trouble with the peds docs. He is going to the bathroom- very liquid- they did start him on miralax but from what Ive heard that doesnt always mean there isnt an obstruction. Just a stressed mom here wanting to do the right thing. Thanks for any insights. Susan
