ALLERGIES!

I too would recommend going to an allergist. It helped me figure out what to avoid- like the fall season- lol- and I found out I was sleeping with the enemy- my goose down blanket! I am allergic to feathers! I have only found one allergy med that helps me in the fall- Chlortrimaton. Not one of the best ones (drying), but the only one I found so far that works.

Singulair has also made a huge difference! I used to have chronic sinus infections, and now they are occasional instead, usually more prevelent in the fall. My allergist (she is also an asthma dr., though I don't have asthma) has been great (and she also has free samples of everything! lol ).

Zyrtec-d doesn't make me drowsy. I take singulair and astelin at night. I know the astelin definitely makes me drowsy.

As far as the allergy shots go, most people I've spoken with who've taken them said they helped quite a bit. I've just started, but am keeping my fingers crossed! I know it's a long process to build up immunity, but I hope it doesn't take that long to notice an improvement.

One thing I'll add is that I don't have any food allergies, but I suspect I have several food sensitivities. There are certain foods that cause sinus congestion soon after eating them ( dairy products, wheat). You might pay attention to what you're eating and see if you notice any correlation to foods/symptoms.

I also went to allergist this year, I blogged about my experience if you are interested. In addition I take zyrtec which is most beneficial for me though it is drying, singulair helps, and nasacort is the only nasal inhaler that does the trick for me.

Pseudaphed sinus migraine helps when despite all my tricks sinus's still act up and rinsing with Neil Med.

In addition you can mention having your IGE levels tested at your allergist because if they are higher than normal and you have asthma you qualify to try Xolair which can help our airways , also mentioned on my blog.
