Am I feeling good or is it a facade?

I agree w. you, Erin. It's hard to accept you have a disease when you feel great, look great, and sound great! but then the realities set in when you lease expect them to...

this website has also made me feel so much better about my CF. like i'm not such a freakizoid any more!

thank god for modern medicine and technology.

I had another thought. You know when you take PFTs and you're not suppose to have had any albuterol/meds within like 6-8 hours before tests? Then if you do b/c you couldn't wait and then take PFTs your numbers should be quite a bit higher, like 10 points or so. Maybe that's what I'm feeling or talking about. In between treatments we are what our numbers show, and then after treatment our actual FEV1 goes up which is why we feel better so I could be functioning with 10 pts higher then my official fev1 in between, which is why I feel so good. It's the great feeling of a higher fev1. Don't you think? Hmmm/.

For me, feelings can be so subjective.

So I go by my FEV1 for the most part. But I've had a high FEV1 and still felt like I had an infection brewing, so that's not always accurate <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I know exactly what you mean. I also was healthy as a child and didnt really have too many problems till i got cepacia. I never did treatments till about 6 or 7 years ago. And i am finding that the more i do them, the more i HAVE to do them. It is a never ending thing . Then when we feel great, we are fooled into thinking its ok to skip a vest session or two, or a dose of pulmozyme and we end up realizing it was a bad idea.
I remember in the movie "Alex the life of a child" the father reads out of a book that a healthy person just lives, but a cf child must be kept alive.
Which is true, most people exist without putting any more effort into it than eating and drinking. We have to really work at it.
